Gusto is full payroll, benefits, and HR software, not a dedicated fraud detection tool, but it's worth including because most small businesses reading a page like this already run payroll through something, and the first question to ask is whether your existing platform already covers the basics before you buy a point solution on top of it.
Gusto monitors accounts for unusual activity (a login from an unrecognized IP, for instance) and encrypts data end to end, and you can require manager approval on hours before they sync to payroll, which closes off one of the more common small-business fraud patterns: someone inflating their own hours with nobody checking. It's baseline stuff, not AI anomaly detection, but baseline stuff is exactly what a lot of small businesses are currently missing.
What it doesn't do is anything close to what MindBridge or Abnormal AI do, there's no transaction-level anomaly scoring and no email-based social engineering detection.
