Argyle gives you direct, consumer-permissioned access to someone's live payroll account, pay stubs, direct deposit details, employment status, the works, through a single API that connects to a large number of payroll systems and gig platforms. It's built for real-time, event-driven use: instead of asking someone to upload a document once, you get notified when their income or employment status actually changes.

That real-time, direct-source model is exactly what makes it hard to defraud compared to document-based verification. A forged pay stub doesn't exist in this world, the data comes straight from the payroll provider the employee is connected to.

Argyle doesn't publish pricing, it's usage-based and quoted per deal, and it's squarely a developer tool: there's no real front-end dashboard experience for a non-technical HR person to just log into. If your team doesn't have engineering resources to integrate an API, this isn't the right entry point into income verification, look at Truework instead for something closer to a point-and-click experience.

Powerful if you're building this into your own product. Not the tool to reach for if you just want a dashboard.

Pricing

No published pricing, usage-based and quoted per deployment based on expected verification volume and use case. Expect a sales conversation before you see numbers.

Features

  • Direct-source, consumer-permissioned payroll data access
  • Real-time employment and income verification
  • Event-driven notifications on income/employment changes
  • Direct deposit and pay stub-level data access
  • Broad connectivity across payroll providers and gig platforms
Pros
  • Direct-source data is essentially unforgeable compared to uploaded documents
  • Real-time change notifications catch things a one-time check would miss
  • Wide connectivity across mainstream and gig-economy payroll systems
Cons
  • No self-serve dashboard, this is an API-first product for teams with engineering resources
  • No published pricing, budget for a sales cycle
  • Overkill if you just need occasional one-off verifications rather than an ongoing data feed
Best for

Companies building income/employment verification into their own product or internal workflow via API, with engineering resources to spare.

Not for

Non-technical teams that want to log into a dashboard and run a one-off check.
